By the side of a vast blue sea, there lived a poor but kind fisherman. Every day, he would go out to sea to fish. Although his catches were often meager, he always faced life with optimism.在一片蔚蓝的大海边，住着一位贫穷但善良的渔夫。每天，他都会出海捕鱼，尽管收获常常不多，但他总是乐观面对生活。One day, the fisherman cast his net as usual. 一天，渔夫像往常一样撒网捕鱼。When he pulled up the net, he found a shiny goldfish inside. 当他拉起渔网时，发现里面有一条闪闪发光的金鱼。 Suddenly, the goldfish spoke in a pleading voice, ‘Kind fisherman, please set me free. She said to the fisherman, ‘Go and tell the goldfish that I want to be a noble lady and have lots and lots of jewels.’他的妻子很高兴，但没过多久，妻子又不满足了。她对渔夫说：“去，告诉金鱼，我要当贵妇人，我要很多很多的珠宝。”The fisherman went to find the goldfish again, and the goldfish fulfilled his wife’s wish once more. 渔夫再次去找金鱼，金鱼依然满足了他妻子的愿望。The fisherman’s wife became a noble lady with countless jewels, but she was still not happy.渔夫的妻子变成了贵妇人，拥有了无数的珠宝，但她还是不开心。Finally, the wife even wanted to be the overlord of the sea and make the goldfish serve her. 最后，妻子竟然想当海上的女霸王，让金鱼来服侍她。The fisherman was very reluctant to come to the sea and tell the goldfish his wife’s excessive request.渔夫非常不情愿地来到海边，告诉了金鱼妻子的这个过分要求。This time, the goldfish said nothing. With a flick of its tail, it swam deep into the sea.这一次，金鱼什么也没说，尾巴一甩，游进了大海深处。The fisherman returned home and found that everything had changed back to the way it was before. They were still living in that dilapidated small hut, and nothing had changed.渔夫回到家，发现一切又变回了原来的样子，他们还是住在那间破旧的小屋里，什么都没有改变。The fisherman’s wife sat on the ground and wept loudly, while the fisherman said calmly, ‘We had nothing in the beginning. Now we have just returned to the starting point.
