That’s where true confidence and beauty come from. Why do we women feel the need to rush into marriage in our twenties? Why does it seem like our youth is over once we’re married? Then we end up raising kids, let ourselves go, and turning into what some might call ‘yellow-faced wives’. And if we wear something colorful, we’re told we’re trying too hard to look young… Why can’t we just live beautifully?
Chinese women give up on themselves too early. Once they’re past 25, they stop talking about their youth. After 30, they don’t claim to be young anymore. And once they hit 40, they don’t mention their beauty. When they see someone who’s well-maintained, they comment, “Wow, at this age, that’s really something.” In traditional views, as women get a bit older, they’re not supposed to be attractive anymore.
