Thirty-seven years after the debut of its first resort, Amanpuri in Phuket, Aman has returned to its roots in Thailand with the launch of its third urban property, Aman Nai Lert Bangkok, in 2025. Nestled within a 36-story contemporary tower, this urban sanctuary embodies the brand’s “peaceful luxury” ethos while introducing refreshing new elements. Strategically located in Bangkok’s embassy district and enveloped by the seven-acre Nai Lert Park—the city’s last private estate originally transformed from rice fields adjacent to the British Embassy by early 20th-century ice merchant-turned-transport tycoon Nai Lert—the hotel bridges heritage with modernity.

Designed by longtime Aman collaborator Jean-Michel Gathy, the property masterfully blends century-old teak architectural details with contemporary elements, creating a dialogue between Thai craftsmanship and minimalist aesthetics. With support from the Nai Lert family, the hotel integrates organically with the park’s natural landscape while honoring the site’s historical legacy. Aman’s Chairman and CEO emphasizes that Aman Nai Lert Bangkok not only continues the brand’s pursuit of secluded luxury but also serves as a cultural bridge, ensuring authentic representation of local heritage through deep collaboration with the Nai Lert family.

The hotel features seven distinctive restaurants and bars across two primary levels. On the ninth floor, clever flooring, ceiling treatments, screens, and furnishings delineate interconnected reception, lounge, and Italian restaurant Arva areas. The 1872 Lounge, named after the founder’s birth year, offers relaxed seating with low-slung furniture. The 19th-floor Aman Club introduces two Japanese concepts: Sesui, serving omakase sushi with daily-changing menus, and Hiori, featuring a 14-seat teppanyaki counter—both honoring the Nai Lert family’s Japanese aesthetic connections through house-made miso and soy sauce.

The laid-back Aman Lounge and the Cigar Bar, which serves world-class cigars, showcase designs that play with tonal variations of the same materials—from richly stained woods to locally sourced Supergenti stone, creating a harmonious yet dynamic aesthetic.  

The lively 1872 Lounge, named after the birth year of Bangkok’s urban pioneer Nai Lert, features a bar adorned with handcrafted leather “cloud” installations from Chiang Mai artisans and intricately carved wooden relief frames that vividly capture the essence of traditional Thai shadow puppetry. Open from morning till late night, the lounge offers leisurely afternoon tea, creative cocktails, authentic Thai cuisine, and classic Western dishes.  

On the same floor, the Pool Bar extends to an east-facing terrace nestled in a lush sky garden, where a century-old Sompong tree rises from the center, serving as the space’s visual anchor. This majestic tree sets the tone for the courtyard at the building’s foundation and forms a breathtaking oval atrium. Jean-Michel Gathy designed a unique pool around the tree, where sunlight filters through its sprawling branches, casting shimmering reflections on the water’s surface.

Spanning 1,500 square meters across two floors on the tenth level, the Aman Spa seamlessly integrates traditional Thai therapies with modern wellness technology. In partnership with medical brand Hertitude Clinic, facilities include six treatment rooms (one dedicated to Thai massage), IV therapy, cryotherapy, and a 60-square-meter reflection pool alongside bamboo-lined corridors. The rooftop Russian-style banya for members combines ancient healing wisdom with cutting-edge treatments, reinforcing Bangkok’s status as a global wellness destination.

Aman Nai Lert Bangkok transcends luxury accommodation to become a cultural gateway. Dedicated butlers arrange immersive experiences—from temple tours and artisan workshops to private Chao Phraya River cruises—creating unforgettable sensory journeys.

Suites distinguish themselves through exquisite details: Chiang Mai artisans crafted water buffalo leather panels referencing Thai shadow puppetry, while teak boat motifs adorn the pool deck. The 713-square-meter Aman Suite occupies an entire floor with three bedrooms, private spa, terrace bar, and entertainment lounge. Gold-leaf coconut shell installations recreate Ayutthaya’s skyline, and movable animal-print screens draw inspiration from the Lert family’s pet leopard bronze statue. The atrium centers around a hundred-year-old Sompong tree, its oval skylight bathing urban spaces in natural light.

The 34 Aman Residences across floors 20-29 share communal spaces with the hotel but emphasize historical authenticity through colonial-style wooden shutters and specially selected timber floors that faithfully preserve the Nai Lert Park architectural legacy. A 1,100-square-meter duplex penthouse occupies levels 20-21, while the 27th floor houses a showcase unit designed by Jean-Michel Gathy for Aman’s Chairman, offering 360-degree views and near-shell condition for complete customization.
