1. Raising chicks is much easier when you have a hen. Just like last night after dinner, I went to the peach orchard, put the chicks and the hen into the incubator together, and the chicks immediately calmed down in their mother’s embrace. I didn’t have to worry about anything and went back to my small bed early. It’s just that the temperature last night was a bit high, and the thick quilt I covered felt surprisingly stuffy and hot. Later, I had to fold the thick quilt and put it on the upper bunk. Only then, covered with a thinner quilt, did I sleep more comfortably. I didn’t hear the chicks chirping all night. The geese were also quite cooperative and didn’t quack randomly at night. I actually slept almost straight until after 6:40. It feels great to have such a sound sleep.
2. It was almost 7 o’clock when I got up. I hurried out to get some feed for the chickens, ducks and geese, and then I heard the chicks starting to make noise, probably because they were hungry. I quickly went in to let the chicks out too, and then changed their water and feed. As soon as these little guys came out, they hopped over to either drink water or eat the feed. Interestingly, they stuffed their bellies full after eating for not long. Then maybe they felt cold, so they started to burrow under their mother’s belly again. So the group of little guys who were just making a fuss quickly calmed down after crawling into their mother’s embrace. Seeing that they were full and satisfied, I went home with peace of mind.
3. When I got to the door of my house, my dad just happened to be about to go out fishing in his tricycle. This morning’s noodles were made with the leftover green vegetable and pork soup from yesterday, and they tasted extremely delicious.
4. After breakfast, I took the two little dogs out for a walk to help digest. On the way, my cousin called, saying he was going to ask my dad to discuss how to help plant wheat in our two small plots of land. Unfortunately, dad had gone out fishing.
5. When I got home after walking the dogs, I had a sudden idea to make a cage for the chicks with bamboo. That way, when the chicks grow up in a while, they can roost in this cage. Before going out, I found that it was already past 9 o’clock, so I casually put rice in the rice cooker.
6. When I came to the peach orchard, I cut down a few bamboo stalks and got some bamboo strips. Unfortunately, my hands-on ability is a bit weak. I was busy until noon but didn’t get anything done. Later, I saw that it was already 12 o’clock in the blink of an eye, so I had to hurry home to cook some dishes and have a simple lunch.
7. Coincidentally, just as I was about to have lunch, dad came back. After lunch, I left dad to his own devices and went to the peach orchard alone to continue working on the chick cage. Later, dad came over too. Sure enough, two people are more powerful. We quickly set up the frame of a large cage. But I found that this cage was a bit too big. So I had to give up. Later, we simply went to repair the fence next to the chicken coop.
8. So after dinner, I went to the peach orchard and casually drove the geese into the fence. Now the geese can no longer run around and quack in the big pond in the middle of the night. Let them stay quietly in the chicken coop.
